💡 The goal of this ritual and spell process is to learn to imbue your food with loving energy. As you move forward in redefining how you nourish yourself, you can begin to take your magical practice and extend it to the more mundane aspects of your life. This is one way to do so. Initially I mentioned that I would be offering a recipe. I have decided against this given how varied people are with their food choices and what they can eat, and because I’d like for you to really make this task your own.

Gather your supplies
- Gather everything you will need to make your soup including some of your chosen plant allies — or a plant ally you’d like to connect with.
- Some good beginning choices: dill, rosemary, thyme, basil, or cilantro.
- Gather the following magical supplies: A white candle, a chosen (optional) oil if you’d like, a bit of the plant ally you’d like to connect with.
Begin by setting the scene and your intention
- Before you light your candle, sit and ground yourself for a few moments. Think about how you’d like your relationship to nourishment to shift and change.
- Once you’re ready, light your candle. Light some incense and/or put on some music as well if you’d like.
- Pick up each ingredient you will work with and add a little bit of light energy or add a breath to it so you can “awaken” it and connect with it. Speak your intention to the items you’re working with and ask them to aid you in this intention.
Cook your soup how you normally would
- Begin the process of cooking your soup.
- As you add each item, add it with intention. Listen to your intuition as you add more or less. Feel how the energy around you shifts as the steam rises blending the different aromas. Feel how your energy shifts as you taste the soup.
Give gratitude and offer some on your altar
- Once you are done cooking your soup, offer gratitude to the spirits you worked with and pour a little bit into a smaller container.
- Place some on your altar as an offering to your spirits and the plant spirit.
