1️⃣ You will need your birth time, date, and the location where you were born. Gather that information and head over to Astro Seek. There, you'll be able to cast all of your lunar returns for the year!
2️⃣ I use whole sign houses, so from here I would change the house system by clicking on "Extended settings" as the chart will automatically be in Placidus. Image to the right shows where "Extended settings" is on the chart.
3️⃣ For those who are new to casting lunar return or other return charts, I would also remove some points like the Vertex and Lilith as we will only be looking at a few specific point.
4️⃣ Next, you're going to locate two key pieces of information. The Ascendant or Rising sign (ASC) of the lunar chart, and the house where the moon is situated. Pictured below are screenshots of the ASC and MC

What will these points tell me?
- The rising sign (or Ascendant) will give you an idea of the general energy/archetype that you'll be moving in through the lunar return cycle. Checking the ruler of the ASC can give you more information on this energy as well as where it may manifest most easily.
- The house the moon is in will give you information on where your attention will most be pulled for the cycle. On top of that, looking to see where the lunar return chart house falls in your natal chart can also illuminate more.
Additional points to consider for more advanced astrologers
- If a a planet or angle in the lunar return chart falls on a natal planet, you can consider that the natal planet will be activated in the area of the lunar return chart.
- If you have a new or full moon lunar return, this is an especially active month.
- If your lunar return chart closely resembles your solar return chart by having the same rising sign, then you can expect that month to be especially indiciative of change.
- The phase of the moon can also be illuminating in telling you where your base energy level will be for the month.
